Buy GTA 6 in Exeter: Guildhall, Rydon Lane or Bishops Court?

Choose a Guildhall collection point or one of two separate retail-park destinations, with the right postcode and a plan that does not turn pickup into a city-wide search.

In Exeter, the right GTA 6 stop depends on whether you need a central collection point or a full retail visit. Argos lists a collection point inside Sainsbury's at Guildhall Shopping Centre. Currys is at Unit 1, Rydon Lane Retail Park. Smyths is at Unit 1b, Bishops Court Retail Park. Choose between those three jobs before planning the journey.

The important difference is not just city centre versus retail park. Guildhall is a place to receive an eligible Argos order; it is not automatically somewhere you can walk in and browse a GTA VI shelf. Currys and Smyths are separate shops at separate retail parks, with different postcodes. A plan that gets those details right can save you a wasted trip.

Which Exeter trip are you actually making?

If you are already visiting the centre and know exactly what you want, first look for a workable Argos order that can be collected at Guildhall. If you need to talk through a console or other electronics, investigate Currys. If a Smyths product and collection arrangement suit your day, choose Bishops Court directly.

Do not treat this as a route through all three. The central destination and the two retail-park destinations are alternatives. An extra journey needs a reason you can name, such as a ready replacement order or a console purchase you have decided to make.

For a buyer without a car, a central collection point may be useful even if the item arrives on a later date. For a buyer already going to a retail park, another trip into the centre may add little value. Neither answer is universally best. Compare the real receiving date, the full cost and the route you will actually use.

There is also a difference between collecting a small box and carrying a console. If you change the shopping list, change the travel plan too. A short visit fitted between other errands can stop being short when it adds a large package, a hardware conversation or a second counter.

1. Guildhall: an Argos Collection Point inside Sainsbury's

Address: Guildhall Shopping Centre, Exeter EX4 3HH.

The official Argos Exeter directory names “Exeter Sainsbury's (Argos Collection Point)” at Guildhall Shopping Centre, EX4 3HH. Keep the words “Collection Point” in your plan. They tell you what kind of destination you are choosing.

Use this when the exact product can be ordered for collection there. Select Guildhall as the receiving location, check the collection date, and wait for the ready message. Do not arrive expecting the collection point to have all the products a larger Argos branch might show in a catalogue.

A listing available for delivery elsewhere does not automatically become available for Guildhall collection. The receiving choices on the product and checkout screens decide that. If Guildhall is absent from those choices, you have not solved the purchase by finding its address.

Save the ready message, collection number or code, and deadline. If the order will be collected during a centre visit, make sure the collection point's own opening information fits the visit. The shopping centre, supermarket and receiving service should not be assumed to keep identical hours.

This option works especially well for a buyer who already knows the platform and edition. It is less useful as the starting point for a vague hardware question. Settle the game details before ordering, then use Guildhall to finish the receiving job.

2. Currys Exeter: Rydon Lane Retail Park

Address: Unit 1, Rydon Lane Retail Park, Exeter EX2 7HX.

Currys gives Unit 1, Rydon Lane Retail Park, Exeter EX2 7HX. This is the electronics-focused choice. It is useful to investigate when a supported console, controller or other equipment is part of the same decision as the game.

Bring a simple written description of what you own and what you need. “I have an Xbox” is too broad to identify the machine. The full model matters. If you are buying a console for someone else, ask them for its model or a photo of the device details rather than making a guess.

GTA VI's listed platforms are PS5 and Xbox Series X|S. A shop selling computers or older consoles does not create support for those devices. Keep the game purchase tied to a currently supported platform. If you are buying hardware, check the exact model on the box and receipt.

For online pickup, the Currys branch page describes waiting for confirmation that the order is ready, then following the collection instructions. Use that sequence. A product's general availability or a payment notification is not enough to justify setting off.

Keep EX2 7HX with the branch name. Smyths has a different retail-park address and postcode. Calling both “the Exeter retail park” can send a collector to the wrong destination even if they understand the general area.

3. Smyths Exeter: Bishops Court, Unit 1b

Address: Unit 1b, Bishops Court Retail Park, Exeter EX2 7JH.

Smyths' official Exeter page gives Unit 1b, Bishops Court Retail Park, EX2 7JH. It lists Click & Collect and in-store preorder among its services. That makes it a relevant destination to investigate for a game purchase, while leaving the exact GTA VI item, allocation and date to the product and order.

Use this branch when the offered edition and receiving method suit you. Select Exeter in the retailer's product and checkout choices, then check that the final confirmation says Bishops Court. The shop's general preorder service does not establish that every version of the game can be reserved there.

Before placing a reservation, understand what you pay now and what remains due. Write down the cancellation terms, collection date and any deadline for collecting. Do not build a launch plan from the word “preorder” alone. It describes ordering before release, not every detail of how this branch will receive and hand over your purchase.

The store page lists parking services, but current restrictions still matter to the length of your visit. Read the signs and conditions at the destination. Do not assume that an extended shopping trip, a return visit or waiting for an order fits the same parking rules.

This is a toy retailer that also lists gaming-related shopping, so keep your question clear if buying a gift. Ask about the exact game and platform, not simply whether there is something “GTA related.” Merchandise, accessories, store credit and the full game are different purchases.

Two retail parks with almost matching postcodes

Currys uses EX2 7HX. Smyths uses EX2 7JH. They look similar at a glance, but they are not the same address. Keep the retailer, unit, park and postcode together when you save directions.

A useful note is “Currys, Unit 1, Rydon Lane Retail Park, EX2 7HX.” The Smyths version is “Unit 1b, Bishops Court Retail Park, EX2 7JH.” Copy that full line from the order into your travel plan. Do not shorten it to a postcode fragment or rely on a shared description of the surrounding shopping area.

For a bus journey, plan to the actual address and include the final walk and return trip. Check current transport information before travelling. This guide does not promise a walking time between the two shops or send you along an unverified shortcut. A route to one ready order is enough.

If somebody else is collecting, send them the full address and the seller's instructions. Arrange any named collector through the order process first. Having your phone screenshot may not meet the retailer's requirements by itself.

When an order fails or changes, return to the receiving details before changing destination. Another branch may need a new order, a different date or a cancellation. Do not assume the first payment or collection code follows you to whichever shop is now easier to reach.

Why the format check comes before the trip

Rockstar's current GTA VI information lists PS5 and Xbox Series X|S, launch on 19 November 2026, and a download code inside the boxed package rather than a disc. Your local visit can obtain the package; it does not remove the download step.

If you usually buy games on disc, stop and decide whether this format meets your needs. A box does not make the game lendable as a disc. A disc drive does not change the code inside. Our boxed code guide explains what you receive and what still happens at home.

Check platform and account region before paying. A PlayStation code and an Xbox code are not interchangeable. Someone who lives in Exeter can still use an account registered in another country, so a UK retail listing needs to be checked against the account that will redeem it.

For a gift, ask for the recipient's console and account region without asking for their password. Leave the code unredeemed until it reaches them. If you attach it to your own account while testing it, the physical package alone will not transfer that purchase to the recipient.

The edition matters too. Compare the stated contents rather than judging by a bigger package or a higher price. Extra items are useful only if the person receiving the game wants them. A standard product that fits the platform and account is a better gift than a more expensive product bought by guesswork.

For PlayStation, Rockstar lists UK codes for UK-registered accounts. Xbox codes are not region-locked. That is why the answer for a visiting player depends on their platform, not simply on whether they bought the package in Exeter.

Choosing collection, delivery or a direct digital purchase

Local collection is useful when there is a clear ready order at an address you can reach. Delivery is useful when the receiving address and date are dependable. Direct purchase on the console is useful when you want to avoid a physical package and can use the correct account.

Compare them against the same deadline. If you need a birthday gift on a particular day, an estimated dispatch date does not tell you when the parcel arrives. If you want to collect after work, a store's general opening time does not show when that specific order becomes ready.

A visitor to Exeter should be especially careful with a temporary delivery address. Agree who will receive the parcel and what happens if it arrives after you leave. A local collection can avoid that problem when the seller offers a workable date, but a speculative preorder collection is not a substitute for a confirmed plan.

If the purchase is for yourself and there is no deadline, waiting may be the easiest answer. You can let availability and final receiving details become clear rather than reserving a product that is not yet suited to your circumstances. Our preorder or wait guide develops that choice.

When comparing prices, include any delivery charge and the cost of an extra journey. For a central errand, Guildhall collection might be more convenient. For a planned Bishops Court visit, Smyths might be more convenient. A small saving has to survive the whole plan to be a real saving.

Bring home a game you can use

Before opening a code package, compare it with the order. Read the platform and edition, and keep the receipt. If either is wrong, ask the seller to handle the mismatch while the code remains unused.

At home, redeem on the intended account. Check the final storage requirement and make space if needed before starting the download. A household connection shared with other people may need some planning; collecting a box does not make the game instantly installed.

If redemption produces an error, keep the code private and record the message. Check the characters, platform and stated region once. Then use the seller or platform's official support route for the problem you actually have. Do not send the full code to strangers who offer to “activate” it for you.

Use the purchase trip card to save one Exeter destination, the exact game, collection deadline and return journey. Keep the alternative seller as an alternative. Your aim is a completed purchase, not a tour of every possible counter.
